Gian Piero Gasperini has delivered a timely boost for Roma fans, confirming that star duo Paulo Dybala and Manu Kone have both recovered from their respective injuries and are available for Monday's crucial Serie A showdown against Fiorentina. With just four matches left in the 2025-26 season, Roma are locked in a fierce battle for a Champions League spot—and Gasperini is giving full credit to his squad's resilience.

"Kone has recovered, Dybala had already recovered. This week has gone better. They're available," Gasperini said during his pre-match press conference on Sunday. The news comes at a perfect time for the Giallorossi, who currently sit sixth in the table, just three points adrift of fourth-placed Juventus with the same number of games played. A win against Fiorentina could also see them leapfrog Como, who are one point ahead but have played an extra match.

Fiorentina, however, will be no pushovers. The Viola arrive at the Stadio Olimpico unbeaten in their last seven Serie A outings, making this a true test of Roma's Champions League credentials. Gasperini acknowledged the challenge, saying, "We're fully focused on that since we're still in the race. The team's behaviour has been excellent, we will try to kick on in these four games."

When asked if this season has been a "transitional" year for Roma, Gasperini was quick to deflect, instead praising his players' efforts. "If Roma are still in the fight for a Champions League spot, it is entirely down to the work that the players have put in: 'The squad has been special, I thank them,'" he said, emphasizing the collective spirit driving the team's late-season surge.

Off the pitch, Gasperini hinted at upcoming discussions with Roma's ownership, noting that their presence signals a forward-looking approach. "Maybe they will start making moves not just for the end of the season, but also in view of the future," he added, suggesting that the club's long-term vision is already taking shape. For now, though, all eyes are on Monday night's clash—a match that could define Roma's season and keep their European dreams alive.
