Gabriel Pec scored two goals late in the second half to rally the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 2-1 victory over Atlanta United on Saturday night. Pec used assists from Marco Reus and Joseph Paintsil to tie it in the 74th minute and then scored unassisted for the lead in the 79th for his first two goals of the season. Reus subbed in in the 65th minute before collecting his fourth assist.

In a thrilling late-game comeback, Gabriel Pec delivered a brace to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy past Atlanta United 2-1 on Saturday night, showcasing the kind of resilience that defines champions.

Pec, who now has 24 goals in 73 appearances for the Galaxy, struck twice in the final 16 minutes to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The Brazilian first leveled the score in the 74th minute, expertly finishing a combination play from substitutes Marco Reus and Joseph Paintsil. Just five minutes later, Pec completed the turnaround with an unassisted strike in the 79th minute, notching his first two goals of the season.

The match had been a tense, scoreless affair until the 60th minute, when Atlanta United's Jay Fortune entered the fray. The midfielder made an immediate impact, scoring unassisted in the 69th minute to give the home side the lead—his first goal of the campaign and third in 63 career appearances.

But the Galaxy, now 4-4-4 on the season, showed their mettle. Marco Reus, who came on in the 65th minute, collected his fourth assist of the year, while Paintsil's helper was his fourth in just eight matches since returning from injury. Goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski made two saves to preserve the win.

Atlanta United (3-8-1) saw their three-match winning streak come to an end despite a strong performance from Lucas Hoyos, who made four saves. The first half was a chippy affair, with Stian Gregersen, Cooper Sanchez, and Juan Berrocal all receiving yellow cards within a four-minute span.

The victory marked Los Angeles' first win in Atlanta, evening the all-time series at 3-3-0. More impressively, the Galaxy have now scored in 21 consecutive matches—the longest active streak in the league. They'll look to extend that run when they visit Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday.
