The Los Angeles Dodgers lost 2-1 to the Miami Marlins Tuesday night, but at least the fans got a fun soundtrack.
Tuesday night was Women’s Night, and to celebrate the occasion, the team let the players’ significant others pick their walk-up songs.
Naturally, the song choices had more female-oriented bent than their boyfriends and husbands would have chosen, but it’s impossible to deny the ladies had some stellar choices.
Chelsea Freeman, wife of Freddie, changed her husband’s normal walk-up song of “Baila Conmigo” by Dayvi and Victor Cardenas (featuring Kelly Ruiz) to “Bichota” by Karol G.
Freeman has also used Bad Bunny songs like “Tití Me Preguntó” and “Monaco.”
Some wives and girlfriends of Dodgers decided to stick with the hits that will get a crowd going.
Maddy Freeland picked “Baby” by Justin Bieber (featuring Ludacris) for Alex Freeland, while Kellie Muncy picked “7 rings” by Ariana Grande for Max Muncy.
Kyle Tucker’s wife, Samantha Tucker, picked Kygo’s remix of Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love,” while Maddie Scott, wife of Tanner Scott, picked “One Way or Another” by Blondie.
Cara Smith picked “Man I Need” by Olivia Dean for Will Smith.
And Dalton Rushing’s partner, Kaitlyn Power, picked “Whatchu Kno About Me” by GloRilla and Sexyy Red.
Jack Dreyer’s wife, Collette Dreyer, picked SZA’s “Big Boy,” which is not one of the Grammy winner’s best-known songs.
“Big Boys” was the basis for a skit on “Saturday Night Live” in which single women seek larger men for comfort during the cold months, a period known as “cuffing season.”
While many of the choices were fantastic, not all got their moment to shine, as some players who were injured or otherwise didn’t play still had their songs revealed by the team.
Here’s a few walk-up songs that didn’t get played but still are worthy of a shoutout:
Elizabeth Phillips for Evan Phillips: “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus
Mariana Rojas for Miguel Rojas: “Flawless Remix” by Beyonce (featuring Nicki Minaj)
Lainey Lewis for Kyle Hurt: “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton
Carson Klein for Will Klein: “Golden” by HUNTR/X (from “KPop Demon Hunters”)
