Friday's prep sports action delivered some standout performances and championship-clinching moments across multiple conferences.

In baseball, the Maroons (20-6) rode a balanced attack to a Big 12 Conference victory over the Irish. John Timmons led the way with three hits, while Tre Cole, Wilson McDaniel, Will Ciciora and Tanner Mast each added two. On the mound, Pipkins was dominant, striking out eight batters over six innings.

Over in Heart of Illinois Conference play, the host Falcons (7-15) soared past the Hornets thanks to a three-hit performance from Graydon Leonard, which included a double. Conner Kinzinger and Trent Wetherell combined for four hits, and Bo Grider chipped in with a double to fuel the win.

Jack Bogema had a monster day at the plate for the Panthers (6-4), collecting three hits — a single, double and home run — while driving in three runs to lead his team past the visiting Knights in HOIC action. E.J. Chaon added two hits and two runs, and Bogema also struck out eight on the mound.

Shifting to softball, the Vikings (10-13) took down the Purple Raiders in Big 12 play behind four hits from Paisley Bean and two from Payton Beith. Deana Linares was sharp in the circle, striking out six and allowing just five hits over six innings.

The Raiders (9-10) edged the Buffaloes (3-16) in Vermilion Valley Conference action, getting two hits apiece from Tessa Pankey, Kyla Dewitt and Payton Clark, with Addie Deitz adding a double. Kaydence Kraus had two hits for the Buffaloes, including a triple.

The highlight of the day belonged to the Rockets (22-7), who clinched the Illini Prairie Conference title with a dominant performance. Danika Eisenmenger threw a five-inning no-hitter, while Grace Bickers drove in five runs with a pair of home runs. Kenley Harris also went deep, and Shelby Smith added a double to support Eisenmenger's superb outing. The win sets up Unity for a shot at finishing IPC play undefeated for the first time in program history when they face Pontiac next Tuesday.
