Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, have welcomed their fourth child, a girl.
The Freemans said in a post to social media that London Rosemary Joy Freeman, their first daughter, was born on April 19.
Before the birth of London, the Freemans were parents to three boys, though they said they wanted to take “one last swing” at having a girl.
The boys helped their parents reveal the gender of their newest sibling in a baseball-themed reveal video.
Freeman has been on paternity leave in anticipation of his daughter’s arrival, and that lasts a maximum of three days.
He was designated for the paternity list on Sunday, meaning he’s due back Wednesday.
The Dodgers are currently in San Francisco to face the Giants.
The Freemans are far from the only Dodgers family having children this spring.
Max Muncy and his wife, Kellie, welcomed a baby girl in January. They recently shared pictures of the new baby with dad, and both are donning Dodger blue.
Additionally, fan favorite Kiké Hernández and his wife, Mariana Vicente Hernández, celebrated the arrival of their second child, a boy named Santiago José Hernández, in February.
Offseason addition Kyle Tucker and his wife, Samantha, recently had their first child, a boy.
Also, recently retired former Dodger Clayton Kershaw and his wife welcomed a baby girl late last year, marking their fifth child.
Speaking with Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA after the birth of his son, Tucker noted that the number of young kids has created a unique environment at the team’s facilities, but it’s one that he and his fellow Dodgers are embracing.
“We’ve got a lot of little ones running around the clubhouse and everyone right now,” he said. “It’s fun to see and share this experience with everyone, and have them come out to BP and the clubhouse and everything, it’s really cool to see all of that. It’s a lot of fun.”
