In a thrilling display of late-game resilience, the No. 5 ranked Frankfort Falcons engineered a dramatic comeback on the road Tuesday, rallying past Petersburg with a five-run fifth inning to secure an 8-4 victory. Trailing 4-3 after four frames, the Falcons' offense exploded when it mattered most.
The pivotal fifth inning saw Gunnar Bradshaw tie the game with a sacrifice fly before Carson Durst delivered a clutch two-out, go-ahead single. The rally was capped by Blake Jacobs, who smashed a two-run single to put the game out of reach. Jacobs was a force all night, finishing 3 for 5 with three RBIs and two stolen bases, while Bradshaw added a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs of his own.
On the mound, reliever Jaxon Hare was the unsung hero, slamming the door with four shutout innings of relief, striking out seven to seal the comeback win for Frankfort (6-5). Petersburg (3-8) was led by Kaleb Kuhn and Broty Sites, who each collected two hits in the loss.
In other action, Lighthouse celebrated its first win of the season behind a dominant two-way performance from Sammy Scritchfield. Scritchfield was brilliant on the mound, striking out six, and equally dangerous at the plate and on the basepaths, going 2 for 3 and swiping four bags in a win over Cumberland Valley.
