Auburn football has successfully recruited Alabama high school powerhouse Thompson recently by signing key players such as Jared Smith, Anquon Fegans, and Kaleb Harris. Will another Thompson Warrior make their way to the Plains on signing day?
Auburn is in the mix to sign a safety from Thompson High School in Junior Tu'upo, according to a report by Hayes Fawcett from Rivals. Tu'upo has trimmed down his recruiting focus to five schools, with Oregon, Alabama, Texas, and Indiana joining Auburn in the race for his signature.
In a recent interview with Rivals' Chad Simmons, Tu'upo says the Auburn coaching staff's excitement stands out to him in the Tigers' recruitment.
“I love how excited the coaches are about being there,” Tuupo said. “They’ve shown a lot of interest in me and make me feel like one of their guys. I like Coach (Alex) Golesh and Coach (Tim) Banks a lot.”
Tu'upo announces his top five ahead of his scheduled summer visits. He recently visited Indiana and will begin his tour on May 29 in Oregon before making his way to Texas, Auburn, and Alabama in June. He does not have a set commitment date in mind, he tells Simmons, but a positive recruiting visit could turn into a pledge.
Tu'upo is the No. 24 safety from the 2027 class, and is the No. 12 recruit from Alabama according to Rivals' Industry Ranking. Auburn continues its push to land top talent from across the country to boost its 2027 class. Auburn currently ranks No. 42 in Rivals' 2027 recruiting rankings with two commitments, tight end George Lamons and defensive lineman Donivan Moore.
