The Arizona Wildcats women's basketball program continues to strategically rebuild through the transfer portal, securing another key piece from the Pac-12. Just days after landing former California guard Aliyahna 'Puff' Morris, head coach Becky Burke has bolstered her frontcourt with a commitment from former USC forward Gerda Raulušaitytė.

This move addresses a critical need for the Wildcats, who faced significant foul trouble and lacked experienced size last season. At 6-foot-3, Raulušaitytė brings a much-needed physical presence to a roster that only featured center Callie Hinder and forward Priyanka 'Pri' Ponnam returning in the post.

While her lone NCAA season at USC saw modest averages of 2.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, her potential is clearer on a per-40-minute basis: 6.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Crucially, she averaged just 3.6 fouls per 40 minutes, a disciplined trait that will be invaluable for Arizona.

Raulušaitytė's true pedigree is highlighted by her professional experience in Lithuania. Before transferring to USC, she was named MVP of the Moterų Lietuvos Krepšinio Lyga (MLKL) upper division after averaging 15.2 points and 7.6 rebounds. Set to turn 22 in September, she brings a mature, pro-style game to Tucson, complemented by extensive experience with the Lithuanian national team at youth and senior levels.

This signing signals Coach Burke's clear intent to add seasoned, versatile talent as she reshapes the Wildcats' identity for the upcoming season.
