The North Carolina Tar Heels are preparing for their second season under head coach Bill Belichick, hoping that they can turn it around here in 2026. With the 2025 season being a big disappointment, UNC was unable to produce a draft pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Neither Thaddeus Dixon nor Marcus Allen heard their names called in the draft the past few days and will now have to find new homes as undrafted free agents. For Dixon, it didn't take long for him to find a new home.
Per Jordan Raanan, Dixon is expected to sign with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent. The outside defensive back will join a good Giants defense that has new head coach John Harbaugh in charge.
The Giants are expected to sign North Carolina CB Thaddeus Dixon as an undrafted free agent, per source. He's an outside press-cover corner with good size and athleticism.
Dixon spent one season at North Carolina, transferring from Washington as he followed defensive coordinator Steve Belichick over. He started seven games for the Tar Heels last season but missed five due to an injury.
The defensive back was listed as a consensus top 300 player on the NFL Draft big board but did not hear his name called.
