Vinicius Tobias, the Brazilian defender who joined Real Madrid on loan during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, has opened up about his time at the club and expressed a strong desire to return. Speaking in a recent interview with MARCA, the 20-year-old called his stint with Los Blancos "the best experience I had in my life."

Tobias was one of several players who were permitted to leave Shakhtar Donetsk under unforeseen circumstances when the war broke out. Real Madrid quickly swooped in, signing him on loan for their Castilla side. He made his debut for the subsidiary team in April 2022 against Alcoyano, and just nine months later, he enjoyed a special moment—making his first-team debut in a Copa del Rey clash against Arandina. However, the following summer saw him return to Shakhtar Donetsk.

When asked about his compatriot Vinicius Jr., who has been a hot topic this season, Tobias was full of praise. "No, the truth is that Vini is a perfect player. He has many qualities. On the field and outside too. As a person, he is an excellent companion. And he's a boy who works a lot," Tobias said. He added that the spotlight shouldn't fall solely on Vinicius Jr., noting that Real Madrid's success comes from the entire squad: "A lot of people talk about Vini, but for me, they should also talk about everyone who plays in Madrid. Because it's not just a single player who makes the difference. They all do."

Reflecting on his own journey, Tobias admitted that adapting to Real Madrid was a challenge. "I arrived in Madrid and I had no experience as a professional first team player. In Brazil, I was playing with the U-20. I went to Shakhtar, spent a month there, and then went to Madrid. So when I arrived, it was another life, with great players, another job," he explained. Despite the hurdles, Tobias made it clear that he would love to return to the Santiago Bernabéu, hinting that his time in the Spanish capital left an indelible mark on his career and personal growth.
