A former LSU women's basketball guard will remain in the SEC. Kailyn Gilbert transferred to Texas A&M, according to a release from Texas A&M earlier this week.

Gilbert heads to College Station after spending two years playing for Kim Mulkey at LSU. Prior to LSU, Gilbert began her career at Arizona.

Gilbert wasn't a huge factor on LSU's 2025-26 squad. She only played in five games, averaging 5.6 points, 2.0 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per contest. She shot 32% from the field.

In 2024-25, Gilbert played in 37 games, averaging 19.2 minutes per night. Gilbery scored 9.1 points per game as a junior.

Gilbert will try and find a role as a regular contributor at Texas A&M, something that was going to be hard to do at LSU given the Tigers' talent in the backcourt.

A&M is looking to take a step forward after going 7-9 in conference play last year.
