One of the impactful veteran hardship waiver additions from the 2025 Indiana Fever squad has agreed to a one-year deal with a rising WNBA foe.

Veteran point guard Odyssey Sims, who provided a crucial spark for the Indiana Fever during their 2025 playoff run, is on the move. The former hardship waiver signing has agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed veteran minimum contract with the Dallas Wings for the 2026 WNBA season, marking a return to a familiar franchise.

Sims joined the Fever midseason last year as injury reinforcements and quickly became an integral part of their postseason push. In 10 regular-season games, she averaged 10.3 points and 4.0 assists. She truly shined in the playoffs, elevating her game to average 14.1 points and 4.4 assists over eight contests, including a spectacular 27-point performance in a semifinal game against the eventual champion Las Vegas Aces.

For the Fever, the decision to not re-sign the 2014 No. 2 overall pick likely comes down to roster construction. With a healthy Caitlin Clark returning and added backcourt depth, securing consistent playing time for Sims would have been a challenge. This move allows her to seek a more defined role elsewhere.

That "elsewhere" is a Dallas Wings team poised for a major leap. Sims rejoins a dynamic core that now features the last two No. 1 overall picks: reigning Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers and the highly anticipated 2026 selection Azzi Fudd. Combined with stars like Arike Ogunbowale and key free-agent additions Alanna Smith and Jessica Shepard, the Wings are assembling a formidable roster aiming to contend.

For Sims, this represents a valuable opportunity to contribute veteran leadership and playoff-tested poise to one of the league's most exciting young teams. Her proven ability to elevate her game when it matters most could be the perfect complement to Dallas's rising star power.
