Justyn Ross just had one of those games that makes Clemson fans stop scrolling and go, "wait, he just did what?"

The former Clemson wide receiver went off for the Birmingham Stallions, catching seven passes for 135 yards and a touchdown in a monster UFL performance. He also added 52 yards after the catch, which might be the best part of the whole thing. Ross was not just catching the ball and falling. He was moving, creating, and looking like the guy Clemson fans remember being absolutely terrifying for opposing defensive backs and the All-ACC honorable mentionee of 2019.

The UFL account had fun with it, writing that the Orlando Storm got "ROSSED," and honestly, yeah. That is about the right word for it. Seven catches, 135 yards, a score, and more than 50 yards after the catch is not a quiet good game. That is a "turn the highlights back on" elite performance.

Ross has now put together a strong start to his UFL season with Birmingham. Through five games, he has 20 catches for 312 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 15.6 yards per reception. For a player whose career has been one long fight to get back to full speed, it feels like more than just a box score.

Clemson fans do not need a history lesson on why Ross still matters. They saw the freshman version of him look like a future NFL star in real time. They saw him ruin Alabama's night in the national championship game. They saw the body control, the hands, the "how did he catch that?" moments and the easy big-play ability that made him feel like Clemson's next great receiver.

Then injuries changed the whole path. A congenital spinal condition forced him to miss the 2020 season, and a later foot injury added more concern before the 2022 NFL Draft. Ross ended up going undrafted before signing with the Kansas City Chiefs, and since then, every opportunity has felt like another attempt to prove the talent is still in there for him to grab. This UFL performance is a reminder that great players don't just fade away—sometimes they just need the right stage to shine again.
