A former Cincinnati Bengals player has been sentenced for an incident last year involving assault on a police officer and public intoxication in Northern Kentucky.
Adam "Pacman" Jones, a notable figure from his time with the Bengals and other NFL teams, received a sentence of five years probation. The terms of his probation mandate specific community service and require him to deliver face-to-face apologies, as reported.
The charges stemmed from an arrest on June 6, 2025, which included assault of an officer, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. According to police reports, officers were called to a bar on W Sixth Street in Covington around 12:45 a.m. for a disturbance involving a customer and an employee.
Upon arrival, officers attempted to stop a vehicle leaving the area. Jones was identified as a passenger in that vehicle and, during the arrest, physically resisted an officer.
This is not the first legal issue for the former cornerback and return specialist. In 2023, Jones was arrested at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on charges including alcohol intoxication and disorderly conduct.
Jones's NFL career, which included a Pro Bowl selection in 2014, was often as electrifying on the field as it was tumultuous off it. His sentencing closes a recent chapter in a long history of off-field challenges following his retirement from professional football.
