Livingston may be heading down to the Championship, but owner Calvin Ford is already planning the climb back up. With a firm pledge to invest in the club's future, Ford has made it clear: the Lions aren't staying down for long.

The club's relegation was sealed last weekend after a grueling campaign that saw just two wins in 35 matches—a tough pill to swallow for any fanbase. To make matters worse, head coach Marvin Bartley resigned on Thursday, citing that the club's leadership had "moved the goalposts" on the agreement made when he took the reins in late January.

But Ford, who became chairman and majority stakeholder in May 2025, isn't backing down. In a statement, he vowed to build a squad that can compete at the top of the Scottish Championship. "We will invest in a budget for next year that will allow us to be one of, if not the most financially competitive clubs in the league," Ford said. "We will not stop until we accomplish all of our goals, and then we will push on to grow further."

The US-based owner is also laying the groundwork for long-term success. A new recruitment department is in the works, which Ford promises will be "one of the best in Scotland," alongside an "executive football committee" to oversee major decisions. For now, Scott Arfield will lead an interim management team through the season's final three games.

As for the search for a permanent head coach, Ford is looking for a leader who can ignite an attacking style of play. "The right leader will guide our play in an aggressive, attacking football style and help promote us back to the Premiership where we rightly belong," he added.
