The college basketball world is buzzing with excitement as Florida basketball earns a spot among 24 elite teams invited to the 2026 Players Era Tournament, set to tip off in Las Vegas this coming November. This isn't your average early-season showcase—it's a high-stakes, NIL-powered event that's quickly becoming a must-watch on the calendar.

Organized by EverWonder Studio in partnership with ESPN, which will broadcast every game, the tournament has grown rapidly since its debut in 2024. What started with just eight teams expanded to 18 last season, and while the original plan called for 32 participants this year, the final field of two dozen programs promises an incredible level of competition.

Florida head coach Todd Golden couldn't hide his enthusiasm. "The Players Era Men's Championship has already become one of the elite multi-team events in a short time, and we're excited to be part of that growth and innovation," he said in an August 2025 press release. "With the field assembled, Players Era will be a central piece of our nonconference schedule for the next several years."

The Gators have been placed in the Players Era 8 bracket, a powerhouse group that includes Auburn, Houston, Kansas, Notre Dame, Rutgers, UNLV, and West Virginia. That's a gauntlet of talent that will test any team's mettle early in the season.

Meanwhile, the Players Era 16 bracket is stacked with heavy hitters like Alabama, Baylor, Creighton, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, San Diego State, St. John's, Tennessee, TCU, and Texas Tech. With this lineup, the tournament is shaping up to be a November preview of March Madness.

Players Era CEO Seth Berger summed up the excitement perfectly: "College basketball is the hottest and one of the fastest-growing sports properties in the country. The players have never been better, and record ratings for early-season college basketball reflect that. Led by top programs from multiple conferences across the sport, the teams in our field are stronger than ever. We can't wait to bring March to November with the number one college basketball network in the world, ESPN."

For Gators fans, this is more than just a tournament—it's a chance to see their team battle some of the nation's best in a high-energy Las Vegas setting. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable November hoops experience.
