The curtain has fallen on Real Madrid's season, and it's been a painful one for the faithful. Sunday's 2-0 El Clasico defeat to Barcelona wasn't just another loss—it was the final nail in the coffin for their La Liga title hopes. With nothing left to play for in their last three matches, attention has already shifted to a pivotal summer ahead.

While transfer targets will soon dominate headlines, the most pressing issue is the manager's seat. Alvaro Arbeloa's future hangs in the balance after a trophyless campaign, and the likelihood of a contract renewal looks slim. The question isn't if a change is coming, but who will step in.

According to Antonio Romero (via Cadena SER), club president Florentino Perez is ready to lay out his vision for the bench. "This Monday, the president... is going to inform the members of the board of directors about the situation on the bench and the possible coaches for next season," Romero reported. He added that while Perez holds the final say, the board meeting will serve as a briefing rather than an official announcement.

If Arbeloa is shown the door, the frontrunner to take over is a familiar face: Jose Mourinho. Perez is reportedly eager to bring the Portuguese tactician back to the Bernabeu, where he managed from 2010 to 2013. The president sees Mourinho as the ideal figure to heal wounds and rally the squad after a turbulent season.

At this stage, all signs point to a Mourinho return. Whether this bold move reignites Madrid's glory or sparks more drama remains to be seen—but one thing is certain: the summer of decision has begun.
