Here is the final 2025-26 player grade for Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid after an up and down season.

The 2025-26 Philadelphia 76ers season was a rollercoaster, finishing 45-37 and securing the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. They stunned the Boston Celtics in the first round before falling to the New York Knicks in the second. Injuries tested the team all year, but there were bright spots across the roster—and no player embodies that resilience more than Joel Embiid.

The 2023 MVP was limited to just 38 games this season, but he deserves credit for battling through an oblique strain and even an emergency appendectomy. His biggest challenge, however, was recovering from the major left knee surgery he underwent in April 2025. Embiid worked tirelessly to get back on the court, showing flashes of his dominant self in key moments.

He hit the 30-point mark 14 times, including a season-high 40 points in a January 31 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. While he wasn't the same unstoppable force he's been in years past, those glimpses of brilliance reminded everyone why he's still one of the league's elite.

In the playoffs, Embiid stepped up despite rushing back from his appendectomy. He averaged 24.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.4 assists while shooting 46% from the field. His three-point shooting struggled at just 17.9%, but his impact was undeniable. He dropped 33 points in Game 5 against Boston and followed it with 34 points in the decisive Game 7 victory—proving his value when it mattered most.

For Embiid, this season was a testament to perseverance. He fought through adversity, stayed available when it counted, and helped lead the Sixers on a memorable playoff run. It wasn't the MVP-caliber year we've seen before, but it was a successful one by any measure.
