Will Fazakerley's two goals helped Guernsey FC progress to the Southern Combination Premier Division play-off final after a 3-0 win over Horsham YM. The victory for the Green Lions, who finished third in the division, sets up a final on Sunday 10 May. Guernsey will hope they can earn promotion a season after the first-ever relegation in the club's history.

Will Fazakerley turned in a man-of-the-match performance, scoring twice to power Guernsey FC into the Southern Combination Premier Division play-off final with a commanding 3-0 victory over Horsham YM.

The Green Lions, who finished third in the league table, now face a winner-takes-all showdown on Sunday, May 10. Their opponent will be determined by the other semi-final, with Guernsey set to travel to second-placed Haywards Heath Town or host fifth-placed Peacehaven and Telscombe. The prize? A ticket to the eighth tier of English football—a remarkable turnaround for a club that suffered its first-ever relegation just last season.

From the opening whistle, Guernsey looked determined to write a new chapter. Charlton Gauvain tested the Horsham defense with two early chances, while goalkeeper Josh Addison proved a wall between the posts, making two crucial saves around the half-hour mark to keep the visitors at bay.

The breakthrough came six minutes before halftime. Fazakerley rose highest to meet a cross at the far post, powering a header into the net to send the Green Lions into the break with a 1-0 lead. The striker wasn't done there. Twenty minutes into the second half, he showcased his composure, latching onto a precise through ball and calmly slotting home to double the advantage.

The result was put beyond doubt with 18 minutes remaining. Long-serving midfielder Matt Loaring unleashed a thunderbolt from long range, leaving the Horsham keeper with no chance and sending the home crowd into raptures. For Guernsey FC, the dream of promotion is now just 90 minutes away.
