Fantasy football is all about balancing risk and reward. While it's tempting to play it safe in your early picks, sometimes the biggest payoffs come from taking a calculated chance on a veteran with bounce-back potential. If you're ready to roll the dice for a shot at a league-winning season, here are five players worth the gamble.

Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
After a down year by his standards—1,048 yards and just two touchdowns—you might expect Jefferson to slide a bit in drafts. That hasn't happened, and for good reason. His 2025 struggles were largely due to shaky quarterback play and an injured offensive line, not a decline in talent. Before last season, Jefferson posted at least 1,400 yards and seven touchdowns in four of his previous five campaigns, finishing as a top-five fantasy wideout for four straight years. With Kyler Murray now under center and hopes for better offensive line health, Jefferson is primed for a massive rebound. At 27, he's still in his prime and could easily challenge for the WR1 overall crown. Don't let one off year scare you away.

D'Andre Swift, RB, Chicago Bears
Swift might be one of the most quietly valuable picks in your draft. After Chicago opted not to add any significant competition to the backfield, Swift enters the season as the clear starter in Ben Johnson's rising offense. Often underrated by fantasy managers, he was the RB14 in fantasy points per game last year with 1,386 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns. While rookie Kyle Monangai had a solid complementary role (947 yards, five touchdowns), Swift's workload and role in a dynamic offense make him a high-upside pick. At 27, he's in his prime and ready to prove the doubters wrong.
