Getting to the biggest soccer matches on the planet is about to get a major logistical update for fans in New England. For the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, spectators will have a new, but pricey, transportation option: the "Boston Stadium Express" shuttle bus service, with tickets set at $95 for a round trip.

Operated by Yankee Line, the service aims to transport up to 10,000 fans per match from over 20 pickup points across Greater Boston, Eastern Massachusetts, and even Rhode Island. Locations will include hubs like the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, Boston Logan International Airport, and various area hotels, offering a direct route to the stadium.

This initiative is a key part of the host committee's strategy to manage the expected massive crowds and severe traffic congestion on match days. With parking at the stadium limited, officials are strongly encouraging fans to avoid driving. "This is about giving fans alternatives to driving and making it as easy as possible to get to and from the matches," said Mike Loynd, president of host committee Boston 26.

The $95 price point places this shuttle service as a premium transit option. For context, the MBTA also announced a special Commuter Rail service for the World Cup, priced at $80 per round trip—a significant jump from the typical $20 fare for New England Patriots games. Tickets for the bus service, which went on sale in mid-April, must be booked in advance and are non-refundable.

Adding a high-tech twist, the route planning for these shuttles is being driven by AI-powered demand forecasting. "Route design... is driven by AI-powered demand forecasting of fan booking trends, as well as capacity management, ensuring routes are designed to maximize capacity and minimize roadway congestion," explained Michael Costa of Yankee Line. Service from each pickup location will begin three hours before kickoff, with return trips departing after the final whistle.

With seven World Cup matches scheduled for Gillette Stadium, this shuttle service represents a major infrastructure play for the Boston area's biggest sporting event in decades. While the cost is steep, it promises a dedicated, congestion-avoiding path to the action for thousands of soccer fans.
