Bakersfield’s Ava Barta picked up a weekend victory at Famoso Dragstrip in winning the Junior Dragster Group 4 class (ages 15-17) during the ANRA season opener.

Barta’s win came during a weekend of nostalgia drag racing that featured strong participation across multiple classes.

Joe Trotsky won Nostalgia Eliminator 1, while Robert “Duke” Baker claimed the Nostalgia Eliminator 2 victory. Ashlee Balistreri won Nostalgia Eliminator 3.

In Gas competition, Casey Treur won A/Gas, Brent Handley took B/Gas and Brian Smith earned the C/Gas victory. Gary Hardee won D/Gas, and David Dockson claimed the E/Gas win.

Brad Thompson won in Sportsman, Mike Brock topped Open Wheel, and Jesse Howe claimed victory in hot rods.

Other Junior Dragster winners included Logan Oliveira (Junior Comp), Connor Casner (Group 1, ages 6-9), Dillon Welch (Group 2, ages 10-12), and Caden Casner (Group 3, ages 13-14).
