Forward Ibrahim Mbaye was not called up to the PSG squad for the hosting of Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 on Sunday at the Parc des Princes. A decision noted by Fabrizio Romano.

Paris Saint-Germain resumed business as usual in Ligue 1 at the Parc des Princes against Lyon. Head coach Luis Enrique and his men fully intended to maintain their lead at the top and keep RC Lens at bay, but they suffered a 1-2 defeat.

To host Les Gones, PSG was without several players, including Nuno Mendes and Mbaye, 18. While the Portuguese is injured, the Senegalese is not, having barely played since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations. Enrique simply chose not to include him in the squad.

In recent hours, Fabrizio Romano was quick to discuss the situation of the player developed at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Italian journalist published a series of messages to recall that Ibrahim Mbaye had played no minutes against Toulouse FC, nor in the two matches against Liverpool in the Champions League, before concluding that his case would be one to follow this summer during the transfer window.

For the X account Prince du Parc, Fabrizio Romano is once again merely relaying the discourse of a player agent, who is reportedly asking him to post on social media in order to highlight his protege with a view to the transfer market.

"What does Fabrizio Romano need to make such a minute-by-minute tracking tweet for a kid from the academy? You have here the example of a tweet sponsored by an agent/sporting director," the user wrote.

This is not the first time Fabrizio Romano has been singled out for promoting a player. The journalist specializing in the transfer market maintains numerous ties with agents, and this proximity is regularly debated.

In any case, regarding Mbaye, the Senegalese seems more than ever on his way out. Aston Villa is reportedly very interested in the idea of recruiting him.
