Derby County secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Oxford United on Saturday, a crucial result that keeps their promotion ambitions firmly on track. Head coach John Eustace praised his team's resilience in a tense encounter at Pride Park.

"It was a really difficult game today," Eustace told BBC Radio Derby. "We knew Oxford would sit in and make it very difficult for us. I thought we controlled the tempo for the majority of the game, though the last 10-15 minutes were a little nerve-wracking as they threw everything forward."

Despite some late pressure, the Rams' defense held firm. "Overall, we defended well even though we gave them a couple of chances from being sloppy on the ball," Eustace acknowledged. The decisive moment came from an individual piece of brilliance, with Jaydon Bogle netting the winner.

"We scored an unbelievable goal through Jaydon, and I'm delighted for him," the manager said. "I felt going himself was possibly not the thing to do, but he's put it in the net, and you can't argue with that."

Eustace highlighted the collective spirit driving the team as the season reaches its climax. "We have grown together this season, and every player wants to be successful. That is the standard we want to build—win, lose, or draw, Derby County are a really tough, competitive team to play against. Every player is ready for the final three games now."
