With the 2026 NFL draft now just days away, ESPN's Adam Schefter shared his "can't miss draft intel" for all 32 teams on his Monday podcast episode alongside Ty Schmit of the Pat McAfee Show.

Here's what Schefter had to say about the Detroit Lions and pick No. 17 overall:

"Look, they’ve got a big hole at right tackle. They’re going to move Penei Sewell to left tackle. Right tackle, they could go Spencer Fano from Utah. They could go Kadyn Proctor from Alabama. I think that the Lions’ two biggest needs going into this would be offensive tackle, pass rusher.

"And I think that the way the board shapes up, we’re going to be in an area here where we’re going to start to see a bunch of offensive linemen go. We could see up to 10 potentially offensive linemen go in the first round. And I think it starts right around say 11 to Miami. From 11 to Miami to say the Patriots at 31, those 20 picks, you may see half of them, almost half of them be offensive linemen," Schefter said.

It's a lot of what we have already heard and know. But, the one interesting note is Schefter's belief that there's going to be a run on offensive linemen in Thursday's first round of the 2026 NFL draft.

If that's indeed the scuttlebutt around the league, then does that swing the pendulum for Lions general manager Brad Holmes in the direction of selecting Detroit's offensive tackle answer with its first-round pick?

That could very well be the case. In Jordan Reid's final seven-round mock draft for ESPN, Reid projects the Lions to draft offensive tackle first and then to address its pass rush second.

After pick No. 17, the Lions' next selection is at No. 50 overall in the draft's second round.
