End of an era: Robin Singh parts ways with Mumbai Indians after 16-year journey

Former India all-rounder Robin Singh has officially departed from the Mumbai Indians franchise after a 16-year association. Singh confirmed his exit from both the IPL team and MI Emirates, concluding a significant support-staff tenure. He was instrumental in the franchise's success, being part of all five IPL title wins and two Champions League T20 triumphs.

After 16 incredible years, the Mumbai Indians chapter has officially closed for Robin Singh. The former India all-rounder confirmed his departure from both the IPL giants and their sister franchise, MI Emirates, marking the end of one of the longest and most successful support-staff tenures in franchise cricket history.

Singh took to social media to share the news, writing: "I'd like to share that I have officially parted ways with the Mumbai Indians. Although I have not been part of their IPL staff since 2022, as of this year also with their team in the Emirates league." He added a heartfelt thank you to the MI family and fans, saying, "Thank you for the support through this remarkable journey of mine since 2010. Wishing the franchise good luck in the years ahead."

When Singh joined Mumbai Indians in 2010, the franchise was still building its legacy. Over the next decade-plus, he became a cornerstone behind the scenes, playing a vital role in all five of MI's IPL title wins and their two Champions League T20 triumphs. It's a resume that places him among the most decorated backroom figures in T20 cricket.

Though his direct involvement with the IPL squad ended in 2022, Singh remained a key part of the broader MI network. He served as General Manager of MI Emirates during the inaugural International League T20 season in 2023 and was later promoted to Head of the franchise in 2024. His exit truly signals the close of a significant coaching era.

Before moving into coaching, Singh represented India in 136 ODIs, scoring 2,336 runs and claiming 69 wickets. He went on to become one of the most sought-after T20 coaches globally—a testament to his deep understanding of the game and his ability to build winning cultures.
