Reds infield prospect Edwin Arroyo hit his sixth and seventh home runs of the season and raised his batting average to .331 for Triple-A Louisville.

Edwin Arroyo is making a strong case for a call-up to the majors. The Cincinnati Reds' top infield prospect launched two home runs—his sixth and seventh of the season—and boosted his batting average to an impressive .331, leading the Triple-A Louisville Bats to a 9-6 victory over Nashville on May 8.

The 22-year-old switch-hitter started the game at second base and led off, connecting on a solo shot in the sixth inning before adding another in the eighth. Arroyo's versatility has been on full display this season, with 11 starts at second base, 23 at shortstop, and even two at third base.

Arroyo wasn't the only prospect turning heads. Fellow infielder Noelvi Marte collected three hits in the win, pushing his own batting average to a sizzling .405 at Louisville. Both players were key pieces in the blockbuster 2022 trade that sent All-Star pitcher Luis Castillo to the Seattle Mariners, and their development is a promising sign for the Reds' future.

With numbers like these, it's only a matter of time before Arroyo's power and consistency earn him a trip to Cincinnati.
