Fantasy expert consensus rankings (“ECR”) are starting to pop up across the Internet, giving managers an early glimpse into how the market might value hundreds of players this summer. As we look ahead to the 2026 season, here are the biggest Chargers busts based on ECR.
Oronde Gadsden became fantasy gold in last year’s rookie campaign when he racked up 71.7 points across Weeks 6, 7, 8, and 9. That’s largely why his ECR is TE11. It doesn’t seem to matter to experts that he averaged only 5.4 points in his other 11 games. Dominance is infectious, especially in young talents. Disappointment can be overlooked because he’s ascending.
But how much ascension is needed for him to knock on the door of top-10 production? There are a lot of good starting TEs in the league. The Chargers are pretty deep at wideout and seemingly have an exceptional backfield. There are many mouths to feed. Gadsden might replicate his 2025 usage and output. He might even take a notable step forward. But it’ll be very difficult for him to crack the top 10.
My other bust pick is the newly signed Keaton Mitchell, the 24-year-old former undrafted free agent who, when he’s not hurt, is an explosive running back. With an RB52 ECR, he’s ranked ahead of Kimani Vidal (RB59 ECR) despite Vidal’s impressive play last season. Mitchell’s durability concerns, combined with Omarion Hampton’s likely bell-cow role, combined with the looming Vidal all make Mitchell a risky top-50 bet.
