The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly looking to be active in the trade market during the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Minnesota Vikings might be in their crosshairs.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is plotting to make a trade over the course of the three-day event. Adding to that, Schefter believes that could lead to a deal for Vikings edge rusher Jonathan Greenard, who Philly has already expressed interest in.
“The Eagles could be making more trades beyond any Brown-related move. League sources say that general manager Howie Roseman is plotting to make a deal on draft weekend,” Schefter reported. “One possibility is adding Vikings linebacker Jonathan Greenard, whom the Eagles have checked in on at various points this offseason, per sources,” Schefter added.
Schefter notes that the Vikings and Eagles have already discussed Greenard and might reignite talks this weekend.

While the Vikings have said publicly they expect to keep Greenard, rumors have said otherwise.
Schefter reported back in March that the Vikings were open to trading the Pro Bowl edge rusher because of a salary cap crunch.
“Yeah, I expect him to be part of our team. I know there’s always conversations,” head coach Kevin O’Connell said. “There’s conversations this week. There’s conversations throughout the offseason, and we’ll continue to kind of attack things at the different phases.”
“But at the same time, we’re always going to try to do what’s best for our team and also what we think is best for each one of our individual players. And that’s an ongoing thing throughout every offseason,” O’Connell added.
The Vikings didn’t have a great cap situation going into free agency, and that issue remains with just $4.8 million to work with.
Minnesota not only needs more cap space to make moves the rest of the offseason, but to sign its draft class, also.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ edge rusher group is in rough shape and the team desperately needs to make a move.
Not only did Jaelan Phillips leave in free agency, the team isn’t certain to get Brandon Graham back.
Philly still has Jalyx Hunt, who tallied a team-high 6.5 sacks last season, but no other edge rusher currently under contract had more than three last season.
Greenard is coming off a down season in 2025, but he also struggled with injury. He should rebound with better health in 2026.
At his best, Greenard is a Pro-Bowl talent capable of racking up double-digit sacks and there’s no question he could provide exactly the upgrade the Eagles need.
