The North Carolina Tar Heels have added a few players in the frontcourt over the past few days, trying to fill a need after suffering some losses. With Henri Veesaar going to the NBA and both Zayden High and James Brown transferring, the depth in the frontcourt isn't very good.
But even with the additions of Cade Bennerman and Sayon Keita, the Tar Heels are still in pursuit of other recruits.
With Michael Malone putting a focus on international prospects, UNC has its eyes on Spain prospect Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje. Malone is overseas on a recruiting trip and while he landed Keita, getting Boumtje Boumtje would be a huge addition. We do know that the Tar Heels are battling rival Duke for his services, but on Wednesday, there was some bad news for the Tar Heels.
Travis Branham of 247Sports put in a crystal ball prediction for Duke to land Boumtje Boumtje. It's the lone crystal ball prediction and it comes from the top analyst at 247Sports.
The 7-foot, 230-pound center is listed as a five-star prospect on 247Sports and plays at FC Barcelona. He will be a big piece for the Blue Devils right away if he does commit. Now, a crystal ball prediction isn't a guarantee but when it's an expert making the prediction, it usually turns out right.
Will Malone and UNC turn their attention to other centers in the transfer portal now?
