Duke already has a talented backcourt going into the 2026-27 season, with the return of Cayden Boozer and Caleb Foster likely returning, while 5-star Deron Rippey Jr. is committed to the Blue Devils.
Jon Scheyer could see the backcourt get even better if things work out with Wisconsin transfer John Blackwell, the No. 3 overall player in the transfer portal, with Duke receiving a crystal ball prediction to land the guard.
With the Badgers last season, Blackwell averaged 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 43 percent from the floor and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Bloomfield Hills, Mich., native also shot 85.9 percent from the free-throw line.
