Duke basketball is already generating major buzz for the 2026-27 season, with On3 placing the Blue Devils at No. 2 in their early top 25 predictions. After a dominant 2025-26 campaign that saw them finish 29-2 overall and an impressive 17-1 in ACC play, the program is poised to remain a powerhouse under head coach Jon Scheyer.

While the team will have to adjust to the departures of Wooden Award winner Cameron Boozer and sharpshooter Isaiah Evans, the roster is far from depleted. Key returnees include Cayden Boozer, Dame Sarr, Caleb Foster, and Patrick Ngongba, all of whom bring experience and talent. Add in transfer John Blackwell and incoming 5-star recruits Cameron Williams and Bryson Howard, and the Blue Devils have a deep, versatile lineup that could challenge for a national title.

On3 analyst Thomas Goldkamp highlighted the return of Foster and Ngongba as crucial for Scheyer's rotation, while noting that Williams—a star freshman—adds yet another dynamic weapon to the mix. The projected starting lineup is expected to be among the best in the country, and the bench depth is so strong that many of these players could start at other Power 4 programs.

For Duke fans, the early rankings are a promising sign of another thrilling season in Durham. Whether you're gearing up for game day or just love the iconic blue and white, this team is one to watch as they aim to climb even higher.
