Manchester United's attack is already one of the most feared in England—only Arsenal and Manchester City have scored more goals this season. Yet, the Red Devils aren't satisfied. They're hungry for more firepower and are plotting a summer offensive to build the deadliest frontline in both England and Europe.

According to reports, INEOS is targeting two key additions: a left winger and a backup striker. The striker search hinges on Joshua Zirkzee's potential departure, but the winger target remains under wraps. However, Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport has dropped a major clue about the striker on United's radar.

Enter Donyell Malen. The Dutch forward is currently lighting it up on loan at Roma from Aston Villa, with an impressive 11 goals in just 14 appearances. That form has caught the eye of several Premier League giants, including Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Manchester United.

Roma holds a €25 million (£21.5m) option to make Malen's move permanent this summer. Once he's theirs, they might be tempted to cash in—but only if a bid of €50 million (£43m) comes knocking. That's a steep price for a 27-year-old who didn't exactly set the Premier League alight during his time at Villa Park.

While the interest in Malen is understandable given his hot streak, splashing that kind of cash carries real risk. He struggled to make a lasting impact in England before, and bringing him back to the Premier League is no sure thing. At a price closer to Roma's purchase option, the deal would make more sense—he could be the perfect deputy for a striker like Benjamin Sesko, a role many hoped Zirkzee would fill.

For now, United's summer plans remain in motion, but Malen's resurgence in Serie A has certainly given the club something to think about.
