As we are all aware, the NFL draft took place late last week into this past weekend. Our Miami Dolphins enter the draft with eleven overall picks, eventually exiting the draft with thirteen picks overall after a trade down and a trade up. Following the draft, I posted a list of all the draft picks from the three days.
Round 1 Pick 12: Kadyn Proctor, OT, Alabama Crimson Tide
Round 1 Pick 27: Chris Johnson, CB, San Diego State
Round 2 Pick 43: Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech
Round 3 Pick 75: Caleb Douglas, WR, Texas Tech
Round 3 Pick 87: Will Kacmarek, TE, Ohio State
Round 5 Pick 177: Kevin Coleman, Jr., WR, Missouri
Round 5 Pick 180: Seydou Traore, TE, Mississippi State
Which of the above Miami Dolphins draft picks are your favorite/do you love, and which of the above are either the picks you hate/just flat out do not understand, and why?
Miami7 likes the pick of Louis due to his versatility.
I think the Kyle Louis pick is VERY intriguing….swiss army knife kinda Safety/LB hybrid. We shall see…..?
davidson11 would have liked to have seen some of these picks flipped for next year’s much deeper draft.
Not turning any of these picks into 2027 picks was a mistake.
SethSchwartz is a big fan of the two defenders from the state of Texas.
I like Jacob Rodriguez and Michael Taaffe. Two defenders who play with more size and speed than they actually have. I work at the University of Texas and I’ve watched Taaffe play for 3 years. He’s a great addition for the Dolphins.
Dolphster feels like we took the solid blocker far too early.
The real head scratcher for me is Kacmarek in the 3rd round. I understand wanting to draft a blocking TE, however I think the 3rd round was a reach. Specifically for Kacmarek who wasn’t even on my draft radar at all and I think he would have been there in the 5th, 6th, or even 7th round.
SuperG!, unlike Dolphster, is a big fan of the Kaemarek pick but thinks that the front office wasted an early pick on the wideout from TT who could have been taken much later.
I’ll make 1 conventional and 1 unconventional choice. For my unconventional choice, I’ll pick Kacmarek as my favorite. I initially hated the pick but the more I learned about him and after Sully’s presser last night, I’m stoked to see this guy just be a total bully on the field. For my conventional choice I’m going with Douglas as the worst pick given it was an egregious overreach. And by egregious I’m talking 3 to 4 rounds too early. Sully could have easily gambled on taking him in the 4th or 5th round and he would have still been there.
Molly Polly II had some preferred players who were passed on, but is happy with the class.
