The Miami Dolphins held rookie minicamp over the weekend, and rookie offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor impressed on the field.

The Miami Dolphins kicked off their rookie minicamp this past weekend, bringing together 13 drafted rookies, 12 undrafted free agents, and a host of tryout players. Among the standout performers was first-round pick Kadyn Proctor, whose presence on the field quickly caught the eye of the coaching staff.

Offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, one of the few holdovers from the 2025 coaching staff, didn't hold back his praise. "Absolutely massive," Slowik told reporters after minicamp, via the Palm Beach Post. "He might be one of the biggest individuals I've ever seen in my life. His legs are bigger than me, but he moves like he's 290 or 300 pounds. He's a really big human with great feet and good movement skills. When you have that combination, you can play anywhere up front. He played mainly on the left side in college, so we'll keep him there, whether it's guard or tackle."

Proctor, who started 39 games at left tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide over the past three seasons, is expected to shift inside to left guard. This move will allow Jonah Savaiinaea to return to his natural right guard position, where he excelled in college. For a team looking to build a dominant offensive line, this kind of versatility is a game-changer.

But it's not just Slowik who's impressed. Offensive line coach Zach Yenser echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Proctor's unique athleticism. "How big he is, just his athletic skill set," Yenser said. "When you see how he can move and how he bends, that's really what you look for. Through the whole draft process, I thought he could play tackle in this league. But I think he fits us better at guard, and I believe he's going to be a really good one for us."

Yenser also noted the adjustment Proctor will face moving inside. "When you move from outside to inside, everything happens a little quicker. You're not playing with as much space. The area you're playing in is definitely smaller, so you have to understand those set points are different."

While Proctor's size—listed at 6-foot-7 and 360 pounds—is hard to ignore, it's his football IQ that has truly stood out. "The way he sees the game, the way he communicates, he's already showing he's a quick learner," Yenser added. For Dolphins fans, that combination of raw power and mental sharpness is exactly what you want in a young lineman building the foundation of a championship-caliber team.
