According to a report from Ouest-France, Didier Deschamps has no plans to recall Hugo Lloris (39) to the France squad as a third-choice goalkeeper ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026. There has been an ongoing debate as to who will deputise for Mike Maignan at the tournament.
The former Tottenham Hotspur stopper has not played for Les Bleus since 2023 after they were defeated by Argentina in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final. The 39-year-old is currently playing his football in the MLS with LAFC.
L’Équipe understands that the LAFC goalkeeper would be willing to come out of international retirement to represent his country one last time should he be asked by Deachamps. Nevertheless, the France boss seems to be considering other options to Lloris.
