The Portland Trail Blazers managed to win Game 2 of their series against the San Antonio Spurs. Of course, there is a caveat with Victor Wembanyama getting injured, but it was an impressive victory for the seventh seed.
On the other hand, the Spurs are unhappy with how they lost the game. This includes star point guard De'Aaron Fox, who made sure to voice out his disappointment when it comes to the referees' calls for both teams.
The expectations for the series between the Spurs and Blazers were largely about the former dominating. They are the second seed for a reason, but now, both teams are on equal ground.
In fact, the Blazers hold the home-court advantage now after stealing Game 2. They did that with solid aggression on offense and being physical on both ends of the floor.

This does not jive with Fox, who believes the Blazers are getting away with too much physicality. Considering the Blazers have Deni Avdija, one of the best players at drawing fouls, it is a valid comment to make.
However, the Spurs did shoot more free throws, as they had 28 attempts to the Blazers' 23. It seems that Fox is referring more to how the Blazers get away with physicality, while the Spurs tend to get whistled for it. Moving forward, Fox wants the referees to call it down the middle.
"If they're gonna be officiated and let them be physical, just let us be physical back, that's it," Fox said after the Game 2 loss.
Moving forward, it will likely be a more balanced game between the two teams in terms of physicality. The Spurs must establish themselves on that part of the game because the Blazers are unfraid to do so. As long as the Spurs know that, they can ramp up their aggression as well.
