Offensive tackle Dawand Jones and the Browns have come to agreement on a revised contract for the 2026 season.

The Cleveland Browns and offensive tackle Dawand Jones have reached an agreement on a revised contract for the 2026 season, marking a strategic move for both player and team as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.

Originally slated to earn $3.674 million this season after hitting performance escalators in his rookie deal, Jones has instead opted for a restructured contract. According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, Jones will now earn $1.5 million, with $1.15 million of that amount fully guaranteed. This pay cut provides the Browns with additional salary cap flexibility while giving Jones financial security through the guaranteed money.

Jones, a fourth-round draft pick in 2023, is entering the final year of his four-year rookie contract. Over his first two seasons, he started 20 of 24 games, showcasing his potential as a reliable presence on the offensive line.

However, the Browns' offseason moves suggest a shift in Jones's role. Cleveland drafted offensive tackle Spencer Fano and acquired Tytus Howard via trade, adding depth and competition to the position. With these additions, Jones may be transitioning to a reserve role in 2026, making this revised contract a practical adjustment that benefits both sides as the team builds for the future.
