The city of Buffalo has made a reputation for being overly fanatical when it comes to its sports teams. Sabres fans are no different.
The Buffalo Sabres' fandom has brought their A-game in each of the first three home playoff games since ending their North American record playoff drought.
The KeyBank Center was rocking on Tuesday night, but one man was able to quiet the rambunctious crew: David Pastrnak.
Pastrnak's overtime winner went viral not only for the massive implications, or silky mitts, but for what he did after. Pastrnak skated right up to the boards and returned the favor to a sea of Sabres fans telling him that he is number one.
He opened up about the moment during a post-game interview with TNT.
"I mean, they were all flipping me off," Pastrnak said. "So I was just telling them that we are going to come back here."
Pastrnak talked to the boys about his OT winner, what he was saying to the Sabres fans after it and shared some old Coach Cassidy stories 😂 pic.twitter.com/0UqfmBcpk8
That sort of confidence is exactly what the Bruins need going into Game 6.
It is no secret that the Bruins have played their best hockey in this series away from home. Both of their wins came in front of the Buffalo crowd, and they have been outscored 9-2 at TD Garden in the first two games.
They'll have three days to rest up and crack the code before attempting to extend the series once more on Friday night.
