Dan Campbell loves the Detroit Lions' newest draft pick.

The Lions' coach spoke with Fox 2 Sports on Thursday night about Clemson offensive tackle Blake Miller, who Detroit selected with the No. 17 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, saying, "I love the way he plays the game."

"There's a way that he prepares and a way that he trains to get ready, all those things. But really, you just turn on the tape," Campbell said. "The guy is a physical finisher, man. That's what he does. And he's got versatility, obviously pass pro and run game, so we just feel like he was a really good fit for us."

Miller set a Clemson program record for most consecutive starts by a non-specialist with 54. Campbell said he loved Miller's experience.

"Man, he's played a lot of football. He's solid, he's steady, he can do it all," Campbell said. "He plays physical in the run game. Freakin' smart. Tough, headsy, he's got length, moves well. We feel like this is a guy who can come in and compete and help us with the O-line."

Campbell confirmed that the plan will likely be to move All-Pro tackle Penei Sewell to the left side.

"I think that's the thought there," said Campbell, who previously said at the NFL's annual league meetings that he'd like to move Sewell to the left side.

He also said he notified Miller that he'll have to beat out veteran Larry Borom, who signed a one-year, $5 million deal with Detroit this past offseason, for the starting job.

"I've talked to Penei, that's what I'd like to do, and certainly, this helps. Blake's played all right tackle and so has Borom. And like I told Blake, 'Yeah, we're making this move. But you gotta come in here and earn it, man.' He's gotta earn that."
