Celtic's on-loan Borussia Monchengladbach forward Tomas Cvancara says his "season is over". The Czech Republic international, 25, has not featured since the 11 April Scottish Premiership win over St Mirren.

Celtic's on-loan forward Tomas Cvancara has confirmed his season is over after a tear to his adductor muscle. The 25-year-old Czech Republic international, who joined from Borussia Monchengladbach in January, will undergo surgery next week.

Cvancara hasn't featured since Celtic's Scottish Premiership win over St Mirren on April 11, a match that marked his 13th appearance for the club. In that time, he managed two goals for Martin O'Neill's side, but his impact was limited by injury and competition for places.

Taking to Instagram, Cvancara expressed his disappointment but also his gratitude. "This season is over for me. Next week I'll undergo surgery after tearing my adductor," he wrote. "Honestly, this is not how I imagined my season at Celtic coming to an end, and not the way I wanted it to finish. But despite everything, I'm truly grateful that I had the chance to be part of this club, this team and these moments."

The forward acknowledged his time on the pitch was shorter than he'd hoped, but emphasized his commitment. "I know there weren't as many individual moments as I wanted, but whenever I stepped on the pitch, I always tried to help the team and give everything for the badge."

Celtic now face a crucial run-in as they trail Premiership leaders Hearts by three points with just three games remaining. The Hoops host Rangers on Sunday at 12:00 BST, before traveling to Motherwell on Wednesday, and then welcoming Hearts to Celtic Park next Saturday. With Cvancara sidelined, the pressure will be on the remaining squad to deliver in these high-stakes fixtures.
