In a move that signals the future of Ole Miss football, Brentwood Academy quarterback Crews Jenkins has officially committed to the Rebels, as confirmed on May 6. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound junior chose Pete Golding's program over offers from Florida Atlantic, Memphis, South Florida, Tulsa, and UAB, among others.
Jenkins brings impressive credentials to Oxford. Last season, he completed 137 of 205 passes (an efficient 66.8%) for 1,817 yards, 22 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions. He also added 74 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. His leadership helped Brentwood Academy post an 11-1 record and earn a spot in the TSSAA Division II-AAA state championship game.
The state final, played in torrential downpour conditions in Chattanooga, saw Jenkins go 6-of-17 for 40 yards and two interceptions in a narrow 28-24 loss to Baylor. Despite that tough outing, his overall body of work has clearly impressed college scouts.
Jenkins becomes the second quarterback from Brentwood Academy to commit to an SEC program in three years. George MacIntyre, a five-star prospect, signed with Tennessee in 2024 and is currently a redshirt freshman with the Volunteers. Interestingly, Brentwood Academy coach Paul Wade revealed last fall that Jenkins pushed MacIntyre hard in a quarterback competition for the 2024 season, with MacIntyre's prior playing experience ultimately giving him the edge.
Jenkins is Ole Miss' fourth commitment overall and the first quarterback to pledge to the 2027 class. He'll have familiar talent around him this fall at Brentwood Academy, including Tennessee commit and wide receiver Kesean Bowman.
For Rebels fans, this commitment is an exciting early building block for the future—a signal that the program is attracting top young talent from across the region.
