The Cleveland Browns have some questions to answer on Thursday night during the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, though it still remains uncertain if Andrew Berry and the rest of the front office are interested in making a trade to add more picks in the first round.

The Browns obviously aren't in a situation where one or two picks are going to completely change everything for the organization, but getting two important picks out of the way in the first round and taking impactful players would be a very promising step in the right direction for this organization.

Recently, looking for ways to do even more than that, Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN floated an idea of a trade with the Dallas Cowboys to get a third first-rounder. However, the Browns would move on from the sixth pick.

“Let’s have some fun here. Dallas and Cleveland each have two first-round picks coming into the draft, which gives those front offices some ability to maneuver. With an elite prospect still on the board, I have Cowboys owner Jerry Jones calling up Browns general manager Andrew Berry to try to make something happen,” Kiper said.

“In this scenario, Dallas would trade pick Nos. 12 and 20 to Cleveland for Nos. 6 and 39. That means the Browns suddenly have three first-round picks,” Kiper wrote.

A lot of that idea would come down to whether the Browns believe they can get who they want at No. 6 at No. 12. There's also a scenario where the Browns don't love who they can get at No. 6 anyway, so moving down a few spots to get an extra pick in the first round would make sense.

Ultimately, this is something Berry has to consider if it comes up.
