
Apr. 19—WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — College of Charleston redshirt junior Carson Bryant and freshman Kaden Myers combined to shut out William and Mary in a 4-0 win April 19 at Plumeri Park.
Bryant opened with four innings of four-hit ball, allowing a walk and striking out four. Myers was stellar over the final five innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out three to get the win.
Dylan Johnson, who went 2 for 3 with a walk and a stolen base, singled in a run in the first inning, which proved to be enough for the Cougars (19-20, 10-8 CAA).
Braeden Smith went 2 for 3 with two walks for CofC, while Alex Lacoste had an RBI.
Nathan Martinez had the go-ahead RBI on a sacrifice fly in the eighth as Charleston Southern salvaged the final game of the series with a 4-3 win over High Point.
Gavin Speirs hit a two-run homer for the Buccaneers (22-16, 7-8 Big South) in the fourth inning. Trailing 3-2, the Bucs evened the score in the seventh on an RBI single by Garrison Barile.
Matt Gallant was solid in five innings for the Bucs, allowing two unearned runs on six hits. Reliever Drew Dawson tossed two scoreless innings to pick up the win.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — ETSU scored three runs in the seventh and four in the eighth to break open a close game in a 12-1 win over The Citadel in eight innings.
Michael Gibson had half of the hits for the Bulldogs (18-21, 4-8 Southern Conference), finishing 2 for 3 with a double. Sam Dansky had the lone RBI for The Citadel.
Citadel starter Bryce Coulter took the loss after allowing five runs in four innings.
