The diamond sports at Nebraska keep rolling along. The softball team swept Minnesota and sits on top of the Big Ten standings and at #4 in the national RPI rankings. The baseball team shook up their starting rotation and only walked off the #12 team in the country three consecutive games for a sweep of their own. The men sit at #14 RPI on D1baseball’s site but still at #17 in the NCAA site (which did not factor in Sunday’s game when I checked.)

To make the weekend even sweeter, the Husker volleyball team beat the Creighton Bluejays 3-1.

Huskers complete historic comeback vs the TrojansEntering the 8th inning, the Huskers found themselves trailing 7-2. Josh Overbeek hit a 3 run home run, cutting the deficit to two. Then, in the bottom of the ninth they were able to string together two more runs to send the game to extra’s.
