Conflicting Reports on PSG Pursuit of Real Madrid Star

PSG has reportedly contacted Federico Valverde's entourage about a potential summer move. But RMC Sport denied the rumor.

The rumor mill is heating up around Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid's Federico Valverde, but the story is far from settled. Recent reports suggest PSG has made contact with the Uruguayan midfielder's camp about a potential summer move—but not everyone is convinced.

Valverde, now 27, has been with Real Madrid for a decade after joining their youth academy. But tensions appear to be brewing behind the scenes. A recent altercation with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni reportedly landed the Frenchman in the hospital, and whispers of a fractured locker room have only grown louder. According to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, PSG has taken notice.

"PSG has contacted Valverde's entourage. That doesn't mean the player wants to leave or that Real Madrid has told him anything about it," said journalist Marcos Benito on the popular Spanish show. He added that while the situation isn't nearly as advanced as the Julian Álvarez case, PSG could be looking at a fee between $87 million and $109 million to secure the midfielder.

The report goes further, claiming PSG sporting director Luis Campos personally reached out to Valverde's representatives. "A very powerful team in Europe—we could even say the best team right now, which is PSG—has contacted the player's entourage to assess his situation," Benito explained. "They wanted to know what happened during his altercation and to make it clear that if he ever wants to leave Real Madrid, PSG will open its doors."

But before you start picturing Valverde in a Parisian kit, pump the brakes. RMC Sport, via PSG Xtra, has flatly denied the rumor, throwing cold water on what could have been one of the summer's biggest transfer sagas.

For now, the Valverde-to-PSG story remains a classic case of "believe it when you see it." But with tensions simmering in Madrid and a world-class club like PSG lurking in the shadows, this is one storyline worth watching as the transfer window approaches.
