Conference USA has officially released an updated version of its 2026 football schedule, following the departure of Louisiana Tech to the Sun Belt. The revised lineup now features 10 member institutions, marking the first time since 2022 that the conference will not add any new programs.
The shakeup began when both Conference USA and the Sun Belt initially included Louisiana Tech on their 2026 schedules, which were released within 24 hours of each other in mid-March. However, a settlement reached on Monday, Apr. 27, allowed the Bulldogs to officially exit CUSA in July and join the Sun Belt. Just two days later, CUSA unveiled its 2.0 schedule, now without Louisiana Tech. The conference also loses UTEP to the Mountain West, leaving it with a streamlined 10-team lineup for the 2026 season.
For the fourth consecutive year, Conference USA football will continue its popular midweek tradition, with games airing on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. While the Mid-American Conference pioneered November midweek football at the turn of the century, CUSA has carved out its own niche since 2022 by filling the Tuesday and Wednesday slots in October. Dubbed "Weekday CUSA"—a tagline now painted on the field during these contests—the league has enjoyed increased national television exposure, with games typically broadcast on ESPN2, ESPNU, and CBS Sports Network through the 2027 season.
In 2026, the Weekday CUSA slate features 18 games, kicking off Thursday, Oct. 1 and running through Wednesday, Oct. 28 over a five-week stretch. Here's the full schedule:
Wednesday, Oct. 7: Jacksonville State at Kennesaw State
Wednesday, Oct. 14: Kennesaw State at Missouri State
Wednesday, Oct. 21: New Mexico State at Sam Houston
Wednesday, Oct. 28: Jacksonville State at New Mexico
For fans and players alike, this revamped schedule offers a fresh chapter for Conference USA, with the midweek spotlight continuing to shine on these exciting matchups. Whether you're gearing up for game day or looking to rep your favorite team, now's the perfect time to stock up on CUSA gear and show your support.
