CAMDEN, N.J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers got back to work on Saturday for a big film session as the team prepares for a big Game 4 matchup with the Boston Celtics. The Sixers will be looking to avoid a 3-1 hole before this series shifts back to the TD Garden.

The big question is will the Sixers have Joel Embiid with them? The big fella has been intensifying his workouts in an effort to return after undergoing an appendectomy on April 9 while the team was in Houston on a road trip.

While the Sixers didn't have a real practice on Saturday, Embiid was able to get some on-court work in an effort to get back at it on for Game 4 on Sunday.

"He’s on court right now doing individual work," coach Nick Nurse said on Saturday. "Like I said before, he’s working as hard as he can to get back. We just need to see how it goes today and tomorrow morning, and then maybe we’ll know more toward the end of shootaround tomorrow."

It would be remarkable if Embiid could return on Sunday. It isn't normal for an NBA player to recover this quickly from an appendectomy when looking at timelines from players in the past, but it's obvious that he has been able to recover much quicker than most from such a major surgery.
