The Glacier Wolfpack stormed through the Archie Roe Classic at Legends Stadium on Saturday, securing a clean sweep of the team titles and delivering a performance that had fans on their feet. At the heart of the victory was freshman sensation Kyle West, who claimed the 100-meter dash title and anchored the Wolfpack's winning relay teams.

West's 11.21-second sprint in the 100 meters edged out Florence's Logan Williams, setting the tone for a dominant day. But it was the 4x100 relay that provided the most thrilling moment. Despite a slow final exchange, the Wolfpack held on to cross the line in 42.61 seconds, narrowly beating Bigfork's 42.67—the fastest time among Class A teams this season. "The handoffs were clean, and in the end, I feel like I was a little slow, but we were able to get the win," West said. "I felt good in the 100. I had a good start and reached the floating stage well. Got the win so that was nice."

West wasn't done there. He added a second-place finish in the 200 meters, just 0.03 seconds behind Bigfork's Tayden West, who won in 22.92. The Wolfpack long relay team also struck gold, finishing in 3:27.76 to claim the fifth-best AA time of the season.

The Wolfpack boys amassed 147 points, comfortably ahead of Bigfork (77.5), Hellgate (59), Columbia Falls (56.5), and Flathead (44.5). On the girls' side, Glacier tallied 110 points to top Flathead (77.5), with Columbia Falls (57.5), Hellgate (49), and Fort Benton (44) rounding out the top five.

Bigfork's Robert Merchant delivered a memorable performance of his own, anchoring the Vikings' short relay team before notching a personal best in the 400 meters—all within 15 minutes. "When I got in the box I said, 'I don't know if I can run this,'" Merchant admitted. "My legs were so dead. I came out way slower than I wanted to. I like to come out pretty hard, but I guess I had a lot in the tank for the last 200 and I just gave it everything." His 48.82-second effort ranks second-best in the state across all classes, trailing only Flathead's Will Hollensteiner, and tops in Class A.

Bigfork also shined in the field events, with Tamret Savik sweeping the high jump (personal best 6 feet, 4 inches), long jump, and triple jump. For Glacier, Owen Thiel was a double winner, taking the 800 meters in 1:56.34 before adding the 3,200 meters. Liam Palmer swept the hurdles races, setting a personal best of 40.20 in the 300-meter hurdles—good for third in AA.

While the Flathead boys didn't win an event, Christopher Holland and Brodyn DeShaw delivered a strong 2-3 finish in the 1,600 meters behind Harlem's Ethan Walker. One of the most exciting races of the day came in the girls' 1,600 meters, where Glacier's Lauren Bissen and Libby's Capri Farmer dueled to the finish. Farmer surged past Bissen on the final lap, capping a day full of standout performances and setting the stage for an electrifying season ahead.
