The Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball program has made a significant addition to its frontcourt, securing a commitment from 6-foot-11, 247-pound post player Riley Allenspach via the transfer portal from George Mason.
Allenspach brings proven production and much-needed size to the Bearcats' roster. Last season in the Atlantic 10, he averaged an impressive 13.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 56.6% from the field. His ability to stretch the floor is an added bonus, having connected on 31.3% of his three-point attempts.
The big man showcased his high-level potential with a 26-point, 8-rebound performance against Old Dominion and recorded four double-doubles for the Patriots. A product of Charlotte's Providence Day School, Allenspach was a highly-touted recruit in North Carolina before beginning his collegiate career at Samford.
This move addresses a key area for Cincinnati, adding a skilled and experienced big man who can impact the game on both ends of the floor as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
